#4: rethink

Discussion "What Design Can Do"

The Dutch designer Richard van der Laken will present an overview of the activities of the international design platform “What Design Can Do”. In an open forum, the participants will discuss concrete examples of what designers are capable of achieving today: How can design be socially impactful? What does it mean when design and creativity are applied to the complex and problematic consequences of a globalised economy? How can socially committed design communities network at the international level? What formats does the design platform offer and how can Berlin’s design graduates get involved? Discussion: Wednesday 13 February 2019 at 6:30 pm.

With: Esther Cleven, Manon van Hoekel, Richard van der Laken, Babette Porcelijn, Ake Rudolf Moderator: Lucas Verweij

In cooperation with Ineke Hans, Professor of Product Design / Design & Social Context at the Institute for Product and Process Design at Universität der Künste Berlin
