Bauhaus Agents

The members of the historical Bauhaus wanted nothing less than to reorganise everyday life, the living and coexisting in society. The issues surrounding the Bauhaus are more topical than ever before. The Bauhaus Agents make use of these, collaborating with students and other partners to develop and try out participative projects, educational media and educational programmes. For example, activating exhibition guides, a transparent guidance system or communicative seating could be created - enhancing the quality of the experience and benefitting all visitors.

The Bauhaus Agents Programme is a unique phenomenon in the German museum scene, putting visitors at centre stage and integrating educational content into the museum concept and exhibition design from the outset. New museums of the 21st century are being developed as open and inviting spaces, where discursive dialogue can take place. Bauhaus Agents gains an exemplary status and prestige in this way, throughout Germany and the world: In addition to innovative educational formats and pioneering collaborative work between the museum and school, the focus is on developing structures and processes that link communication between all areas of the museums. After the programme has ended, the results, and in particular the processes involved, will be made available to other institutions, to serve as an example and role model. Together with eight partner schools, the two Berlin Bauhaus Agents Tullia Tarsia in Curia and Friederike Holländer are developing educational formats and media for the Bauhaus-Archiv / Museum für Gestaltung, which will be available to all visitors afterwards.
